The project commenced with a complete external sandblasting of the hull, deck, mast and boom, followed by the application of professional marine coating systems and refinishing of all external surfaces. From there, virtually every major vessel system was reviewed, renewed or upgraded, including electrical wiring, plumbing, battery management, solar charging, rigging, steering, navigation electronics and anchoring systems. The interior was also comprehensively refurbished. The result is a yacht that has benefited from substantial investment, thoughtful engineering and a commitment to long-term cruising reliability.

About the owner
SV Lotte has benefited from an extensive and highly detailed refit and refurbishment program carried out over a seven-year period. Unlike many yacht refits that rely heavily on external contractors, much of the work was personally undertaken by the owner, a qualified boilermaker and welder with decades of experience in fabrication, engineering and project execution. This provided the unique opportunity to complete structural steel modifications, custom fabrication and engineering work to a professional standard while maintaining complete control over design, quality and workmanship.
Supporting this practical trade background is more than 20 years of experience in 3D CAD design. The combination of advanced fabrication skills and computer-aided design allowed many components and modifications to be developed, refined and visualised in three dimensions before construction commenced. This capability ensured accurate fit-up, efficient fabrication and a high standard of finish throughout the project, while also enabling the creation of numerous bespoke solutions tailored specifically to the vessel.
The practical problem-solving skills and disciplined approach developed through the metal fabrication trades were applied across virtually every aspect of the vessel's refurbishment. The project extended well beyond steelwork to include marine joinery, mechanical systems, electrical installations, hydraulics, rigging, deck hardware, coatings and general boatbuilding. The result is a yacht that has been thoughtfully modernised and continually improved through thousands of hours of carefully planned and professionally executed work, with every modification undertaken to enhance safety, reliability, functionality and cruising comfort.
