Sailing Lotte

Broad Reach on Jervis Bay

Cruising Capability

SV Lotte is a yacht built for sailors who value capability, comfort and self-sufficiency. Based on the proven Adams 45 offshore design, she offers the reassuring feel of a substantial cruising yacht, whether making coastal passages, spending extended periods at anchor, or undertaking longer offshore voyages.

Life aboard is enhanced by a spacious interior, practical deck layout and systems developed to support independent cruising. The secure cockpit, generous storage, comfortable accommodation and robust construction make her equally suited to a weekend escape or an extended cruising adventure. Under sail, Lotte rewards her crew with predictable handling and a comfortable motion at sea, while her well-maintained systems provide confidence when travelling further afield.

For her owners, Lotte has been more than a yacht—she has been a capable cruising home, a reliable passage-maker and a platform for exploring the coast in safety and comfort. She is ready for her next owners to cast off the lines and continue the journey.

Comfortable Liveaboard Lifestyle

Lotte has been configured not only as a capable offshore yacht but also as a comfortable home afloat. Her spacious interior provides generous accommodation for extended cruising, with practical living spaces that make life aboard enjoyable whether at anchor, in a marina, or underway on passage.

The well-appointed galley, ample storage, and thoughtfully arranged living areas support self-sufficient cruising and longer periods aboard. Large living spaces create an inviting atmosphere below deck, while excellent ventilation and natural light contribute to comfort in a wide range of conditions.

Designed with real-world cruising in mind, Lotte offers the balance of practicality and comfort that experienced sailors appreciate. Whether enjoying a weekend escape, coastal cruising with family and friends, or embarking on an extended voyage, she provides the space, security, and liveability needed to make time aboard both relaxing and rewarding.

Designed for Offshore Confidence

Lotte was built around the principles that matter most when venturing beyond sheltered waters: strength, reliability, and seaworthiness. Based on the respected Adams 45 offshore design and constructed in steel, she offers the reassuring sense of security and durability that experienced sailors seek in a serious cruising yacht.

Her robust construction, protected cockpit, and practical deck layout are complemented by systems and equipment selected to support safe and comfortable passage making. Under sail, Lotte delivers predictable handling and a comfortable motion at sea, inspiring confidence in a wide range of conditions. Below deck, the substantial build quality and thoughtful layout provide a secure and comfortable environment for crew during longer passages.

Extensively refitted and carefully maintained, Lotte is a yacht designed to look after her crew when conditions become challenging. Whether undertaking coastal passages, offshore cruising, or preparing for more ambitious adventures, she offers the capability and confidence that are the hallmarks of a true blue water cruiser.

Engineering and Self-Sufficiency

A key objective of Lotte's extensive refit was to create a yacht capable of reliable and independent cruising, supported by robust engineering and carefully maintained onboard systems. Throughout the refurbishment program, significant investment was made in the vessel's mechanical, electrical, and support systems to enhance reliability, simplify maintenance, and improve long-term serviceability.

At the heart of the yacht is the highly regarded Ford Lehman 2712E diesel engine, a model renowned amongst cruising sailors for its simplicity, durability, and dependable operation. With fewer than 2,000 operating hours, the engine has benefited from ongoing maintenance and refurbishment. As part of the refit, the engine underwent a comprehensive external restoration, including sandblasting, preparation, and repainting to a high standard. In 2014, a qualified diesel mechanic carried out a bore inspection and reported the engine to be in good condition, providing additional confidence in its mechanical health.

The combination of a proven diesel engine, practical engineering systems, and straightforward access to machinery spaces contributes to Lotte's ability to operate independently and reliably away from marina facilities. Designed for extended cruising, she offers the self-sufficiency, maintainability, and peace of mind that experienced sailors value when venturing beyond sheltered waters.

Whether undertaking coastal passages, extended stays at anchor, or preparing for offshore adventures, Lotte's engineering reflects a philosophy of reliability, simplicity, and long-term cruising capability.
